Engineer-banker cousins killed in Gopalganj road crash People gather around the bodies

GOPALGANJ: Two cousins were killed as a bus hit a private car on Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Gopinathpur of Gopalganj early Tuesday (August 21).

The deceased are—Prince Sarder, 36, senior principal officer at Rupali Bank’s Motijheel branch under Dhaka South Division and  his cousin Shimul Sarder, 40, an architect.

Prince’s wife Ferdousi Keka, 32, was injured.  

Prince accompanying his wife Keka and cousin Shimul were on way to their Bagerhat village residence to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha, leaving Dhaka, by a private car.

A Pirojpur-bound bus hit the car from behind, leaving Price and Shimul dead on the spot, Keka injured and the car battered on the highway in Sharifpara area around 7:30am, Bhanga Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahfuzur Rahman told Banglanews.

Prince was hailed from Mulghar village of Fakirhat upazila in Bagerhat while Shimul was from Sonadanga, Khulna.
