Police monitors highways: IGP

SAVAR: Police surveillance has been heightened on highways for comport of holidaymakers  ahead of Eid-ul-Adh, said Javed Patwari, Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Extra police were deployed in probable congested areas. Besides, traffic movement is monitored continuously to avert unwanted traffic jam, the IGP added.

IGP Javed Patwari told reporters while inspecting road condition of Nabinagar-Chandra highway on Friday (August 17).

He also said no cattle-laden vehicles could be halted on roads. Vehicles, bearing stickers, can sell cattle in any markets by choice. Salary, bonus of garments workers must be paid before Eid.
