DHAKA: Thirteen people have been killed following separate road accidents in Narsingdi, Sirajganj, Satkhira, Gazipur,Munshiganj, Naogaon, and Sherpur districts of the country on Tuesday (August 14).

In Narsingdi, seven persons including two women and a child were killed as a bus collided with a microbus on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi.

The accident happened on the highway in Sonamurur Tek area of Shibpur, around 8:15am.

The bus engaged in the collision was of ‘Mitali Paribahan’ bus service.

Shibpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salam Hossain confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

In Sirajganj, a businessman has been killed after a truck plunged into a ditch at Dublar Bill area under Panchakroshi union in Ullahpara upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Shamsul Islam, 45, son of Abdul Kuddus, hailed from Matikora village of the same union.

In Satkhira, a 7th grader school girl has been crushed under a truck at Hajipur point under Shuvnali union in Assasuni upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Tithi Moni Swarnokar, 12, daughter of Parimal Swarokar. She was a student of Badartola High school.

In Gazipur, a youth has been killed following collision of two trucks in Salna area of Gazipur City Corporation.

The deceased was identified as Raju, 26, son of Omar Ali, hailed from Digholpara area of Sherpur Sadar Police station.

In Munshiganj, a covered van driver has been killed after his vehicle collided with a lorry in Voberchar area of Gazaria upazila of the district.

The deceased as identified as Md Shamim, 23, son of Md Mostafizur, hailed from Bhola district.

In Naogaon, a madrasa student has been killed after he was hit by a truck in Maglishpur area Mohadevpur upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Md Atiq Hossen, 19, son of late Abdul Owahab, hailed from Tolok village under Enayetpur union of the upazila.

In Sherpur, a bus-truck collision claimed the life of the truck driver at Gourdar area of Nakla upazila.

The deceased was identified as Md Nahid Miah, son of late Fakir Uddin, hailed from Sultanpur Bajitkhila area of Sherpur Sadar Upazila.
