DHAKA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have been deployed in Rajshahi, Barishal and Sylhet cities ahead of the city corporation elections scheduled to be held on July 30.

“A total 44 platoons of BGB, 15 platoons in Rajshahi, 15 platoons in Barishal and 14 platoons in Sylhet cities, have been deployed,” BGB’s Public Relations Officer Mohsin Reza told Banglanews on Saturday (July 28).

BGB members are assigned the task to ensure security from July 28-31 in 3 city corporations’ areas. Besides, 4 platoons of BGB members are in reserve. If necessity arises, more BGB members will be deployed, Mohsin Reza also said.
