DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has formed a probe committee to look into the allegations involving coal-related corruption at Barapukuria power plant.
ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Banglanews (July 23).
The three member committee will be led by ACC Deputy Director Shamsul Alam while the others two members are assistant directors ASM Sajjad and Tajul Islam.
Pranab Kumar said Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Managing Director Habib Uddin Ahmed and others have been accused of selling 116,000 tonnes of coal for approximately Tk 200 crore through fraud, abusing their power and other illegal and corrupt means.
