3 bodies recovered in 3 dists

DHAKA: Police recovered three bodies of men in Cox’s Bazar, Chuadanga, and Tangail districts on Saturday (June 23).

In Cox’s Bazar, police recovered a body of a youth from Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway at mid night, Alomgir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Malumghat Highway Police Outpost told Banglanews.

The injured was identified Md Jewel, 18, son of Moktar Miah, of Chakaria Municipality.

The youth was assumed to be killed in a road crash at Khutakhali Medha Kocchopiya highway. The body was handed over to the family in the morning, the police official said.

In Chuadanga, police recovered a bullet-hit body of an alleged drug dealer from Satokpat area of Alamdanga upazila town, Abu Jihad Fakhrul Alom Khan, OC of Alamdanga Polise Station told Banglanews.

The deceased was identified as Altu Mondol, 27, son of late Mohasin Ali, from Govindapur village of the upazila.

Altu had 12 cases registered in the police station. His mother-in-law Mini Khatun, now in jail, was among Most Wanted drug dealer on the list. Altu was in charge of that drug business. He must have been murdered over drug dealing. However, investigation is underway, the police official said.

In Tangail, police recovered a bullet-hit body of an alleged drug dealer from SDS ground of Charabari of Sadar Upazila.

The deceased was named as Abdul Mannan, of Charabari village of the upazila, Sayedur Rahman, OC of Tangail Police Station told Banglanews.

Abdul Mannan was killed during a gun battle between two rival groups over drug business at dawn. Police, after collecting the body, sent it to Tangail General Hospital morgue. Later, a foreign pistol and yaba tablets were recovered from the spot, the OC said.
