KHULNA: Five persons were killed and at least fifteen others injured as a bus lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch on Khulna-Satkhira Highway in Dumuria upazila Thursday noon (June 21).

Two of the deceased were identified as Mostofa Gazi and Shariful Islam; both are residents of Koyra upazila.

The bus plunged into a roadside ditch while giving side to another bus on the highway in Boratia area, leaving five persons dead on the spot and fifteen other injured, Dumuria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habil Hossain told Banglanews

The injured were admitted to different hospitals including Dumuria Health Complex and Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Most of the bus passengers were labors. They were en route to Khulna to search day-laborer works, added the OC.
