KURIGRAM: Family members recovered the bodies of a newly-married couple hanging from the ceiling of their house in Kurigram municipal area on Wednesday (June 20).

The couple was pronounced dead after being taken to Kurigram Sadar Hospital later, said family.

The couple was identified as Milon, 20, son of Belal Hossen, hailed from Harikesh Moddhyopara of municipal area and Manisha Banu, 17, daughter of Ayub Ali.

Following a love affair, the couple got married a month ago.

According to family sources, on the night of June 19, they went to bed after having supper. At noon, family members broke into their room after getting no response from inside and found them hanging using a single rope.

Kurigram Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Mahfujur Rahman told Banglanews that the bodies were sent to morgue for autopsy. The couple believed to have been committed suicide following family feud.
