MADHUPUR (TANGAIL): A fifth grader was believed to be murdered after rape in Madhupur upazila of the district, locals claimed.

Liza, daughter of Mizanur Rahman and a student of Gasbari Government Primary School, did not return home after leaving home around 11 am.

After a long a search, her body was found, around 10 pm, wrapped in banana leaves in the bamboo jungle nearby her house at Gasabari village under Oronkhola Union of Madhupur Upazila on Friday night (May 25).

On information, police collected the body around 11 pm from the spot, said Aminul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Madhupur Police Station.

Clothes of her (Liza) body were found torn. She seemed to be murdered following rape, said Belayet Hossen, Member of local Union Parishad (UP).
