DHAKA: With the advance sale of train ticket beginning from June 1, Bangladesh Railway has made arrangements of alternative train for Eid home-goers in case the planned train delays.

Moreover, vacation for railway employees has been cancelled to ease the hassle of Eid traveling that starts from June 10. 

Railway Minister Mujibul Haque made the announcement at a press briefing in Railway building on Thursday (May 24).

Earlier, the minister have held meeting with officials concerned where Railway secretary Mofazzel Hossain, Additional secretary (Law) Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Railway director (Operation) Mia Zahan and law enforcing officials were present.

In the question of train delay, Bangladesh Railway director general Amzad Hossain said trains on Dhaka-Chittagong route will leave in due time. However, trains on Dhaka-Lalmonirhat may face delay sometimes but we have arranged alternate trains to solve the problem. 

Railway Minister Mujibul Haque said railway officials’ vacation have been canceled from June 10-15. All officials will carry on their duties for 24 hours to ensure smooth Eid travel.

The minister also said that ticket sale will start at 8:00am in 26 counters. Two of them are for women ticket seekers. Besides, mobile courts will be present to catch back marketer.
