DHAKA: The advance sale of train ticket is going to start from June 1 and will continue till June 6 ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The return tickets will be sold from June 10 to June 15.

The Eid-ul Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on June 16 or17, subject to the sighting of moon.

Railway Minister M Mujibul Haque disclosed the matter at a press briefing held in Railway Building on Thursday (May 24).

The tickets of June 10 will be sold on June 1, tickets of 11 on June 2, tickets of 12 on June 3, tickets of 13 on June 4, tickets of 14 on June 5, tickets of 15 on June 6.

However, sale of return tickets will be continued for June 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 from June 10, 11,12,13,14, and 15 respectively.

A passenger is allowed to collect a maximum of four tickets.

Seven pairs of special trains will be run for five days before the Eid and seven days after the holidays end.

There are no off days for 12 days on the railway. In this period, movement of train is on all rail routes across the country.

31 inter-city trains from Kamlapur Railway Station will be in service.

On Eid day, two trains: one from Bhairab Bazar to Kishoreganj and the other from Mymensingh to Kishoreganj will be in service for the biggest Eid prayers of the sub-continent-Sholakia, the Minister said.
