Huge yaba seized in anti-narcotics drive

DHAKA: A large amount of yaba tablets seized in anti-narcotics drives conducted in Mymensingh and Cox’s Bazar.

In Mymensingh, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14) detained two persons in possession with 37,500 pieces of yaba pills on Wednesday night (May 23).

Confirming the matter to Banglanews, RAB-14 Sub-Inspector Rubel Hawladar said, “Two suspects were also caught from a leather warehouse of Mymensingh town. A press conference will be held at noon."

In Cox’s Bazar, police seized 2, 50000 pieces of yaba pills from  Habirchara area under Marine drive Street of Teknaf upazila of the district on Wednesday night (May 23).

Sensing police presence, four smugglers fled away.

A case will be filed against  Shakir, 25, Abul Matlab, 37, Abdul Gafur, 42, and Md Bashar, Ranjeet Kumar Barua told Banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf police station.
