MYMENSINGH: A farmer and a fisherman were killed after being struck by separate lightning strikes in Mymensingh sadar and Muktagacha upazilas Wednesday afternoon (May 23).

The deceased were identified as Abdul Sekab, 60, and Ershad, 26. 

Officers-in-Charge (OCs) Mahmudul Islam and Ali Ahammed Molla of the Mymensingh sadar and Muktagaccha police stations told Banglanews that the duo were killed by the thunderbolts around 3:30pm.

Lightings struck them while Ershad was fishing in a water body in Kolakanda village and Sekab was harvesting paddy.
