GOPALGANJ: Three people were killed and 10 others injured as a paddy laden truck overturned in Pathalia area of Gopalganj sadar upazila on Monday morning (May 7).

The deceased were identified as Qamrul Kazi, 65, Mainul, 50 and Mahmudul Hasan Moyna, 40. All of them are paddy field workers and hailed from Baliadanga village in Boithadanga upazila of Khulna. 

Gopalganj sadar police station Inspector (probe) Golam Faruk said the accident happened as the workers were returning from Barisal district after cropping paddy. The truck fell into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over steering leaving 3 dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

On information, police and fire service rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons to Gopalganj sadar hospital, he added.
