DHAKA: Two people were reportedly missing as a boat capsized while crossing the River Buriganga in Sadarghat on Monday evening (April 2).

The incident occurred around 7:20pm in Chandpurghat area of Sadarghat. However, the identities of the missing persons were not known yet. 

Fire Service and Civil Defence Control room operator Ziaur Rahman told Banglanews that a small passenger boat capsized while crossing the river. Most of the passengers managed to swim ashore but two went missing. 

The divers of Fire Service are conducting a rescue operation on search for the missing ones, he added.
