SUST students protest classmate’s murder, submit memorandum

SYLHET: Students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet protesting the murder of the university’s former student Mahid Al Salam by a snatcher.

They protesting students have also urged all to be united against muggers and snatchers who had been committing terror and murder all across Sylhet.

SUST students brought out a procession from campus and went to Deputy Commissioner’s office for handing over the memorandum at 2:00 pm on Tuesday (March 27).

Deputy Commissioner Nimery Zaman has assured the students for bringing the perpetrators to justice.

On early Tuesday (March 27), Mahid Al Salam was stabbed to death by some muggers in Kadamtali bus stand area in Sylhet city when he was on way to Dhaka to attend a job interview.

The body of Mahid will be taken to SUST campus around 4:00 pm to pay homage. Afterwards, he will be buried, sources said.
