DHAKA: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) is set to announce verdict any day in a case against Al Badr Chief Riaz Uddin Fakir from Fulbaria upazila of Mymensingh, on charge of crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of 1971.

A three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam kept the judgment on CAV, Curia Advisari Vult (a Latin legal term meaning court awaits verdict) after conclusion of hearing Wednesday (March 21).
 
Prosecutor Rishikesh Shaha and lawyer Muzahidul Islam Shahin moved for the state and Riaz, at the courtroom.

Five types of charges including murder, genocide, detention, abduction, torture and rape were brought against Riaz. 

The tribunal formed charges against him on December 11, 2016.

Complaints were submitted formally on September 21, 2016 upon finalization of the investigation report on February 18 in the same year. More two accused in the same case were acquitted as they died while absconding.
