DHAKA: Government has formed a 13- member medical board to provide better treatment to the four Bangladeshi survivors of the US-Bangla airlines’ plane that crashed in Nepal’s Kathmandu.
Samanta Lal Sen, head of burn unit at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), leads the board.
Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), told reporters Saturday (March 17).
“None of the injured is in critical conditions physically, but they are facing problems mentally. Therefore, psychiatrists are on the board. The treatment begins from day,” said Dr Abul Kalam Azad.
Earlier on Monday (March 12), a US-Bangla airlines plane carrying 71 people including 67 passengers has crashed on landing at Nepal's Kathmandu airport killing 51 people.
A total of 10 Bangladeshis survived the crash and 28 lost their lives.
Four survivors -- Shahreen Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan and his wife Saiyada Kamrunnahar Shwarna and Almunnahar Annie – are undergoing treatment at DMCH.
