SHARIATPUR: At least three people were killed and four others injured as a freight truck plunged into a roadside ditch in Bhedarganj upazila of Shariatpur on Thursday noon (February 22). 

The accident took place around 2:00pm on Shariatpur-Chandpur highway near Narayanpur Govt Primary school of the upazila. 

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

However, the injured persons were recovered and taken to Bhedarganj upazila health complex. 

Locals said the truck plunged into a ditch after the driver lost control over its steering leaving the trio dead on spot. An effort to rescue the deceased persons is underway.

Bhedarganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
