FARIDPUR: A hospital nurse, who was severely injured during a snatch theft incident on February 17, died after fighting for life in hospital intensive care unit (ICU) on Thursday morning (February 22).

Faridpur Medical College Hospital Principal Dr Khabirul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews at 9:30 am.

The victim was identified as Arunima Biswas, 45, mother of two children and wife of one Nripendranath Biswas, hailed from Bhatiapara area of Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj.  

Nripendranath Biswas is a physician of Otorhinolaryngology Department in Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) and his wife Arunima Biswas was a nurse at FMCH.

Earlier on Saturday morning (Feb 17), Arunima was injured falling from a rickshaw when two thieves on a motorbike snatched her handbag in front of land office in Faridpur sadar upazila. She was rushed to RMCH at first and airlifted to Dhaka Neuroscience hospital on the same day.

Faridpur Katwali police station officer-in-charge (OC) Nazimuddin told Banglanews that no case was filed over the incident.
