GAZIPUR: A Gazipur court has awarded life term imprisonment to a youth on charge of killing an easy-bike driver at Kaliganj upazila in the district in 2015.

Judge of the District and Sessions Court in Gazipur AKM Enamul Haque delivered the verdict on Monday (January 22).

The court also fined the convict Tk. 5,000, in default, three months more imprisonment.

The court also awarded five years imprisonment to six others.

The life term convict is Masum, 28, son of Angur Khan of Baranagar area in the upazila. He was an easy-bike driver.

According to the case statement, Masum was assaulted by the convicts on March 8 in 2015. Later, he died in a hospital in Dhaka on March 12.
