Biswa Ijtema to end Sunday with Akheri Munajat

DHAKA: The Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of the world’s Muslims after Hajj organized by the Tablig Jamaat, will end on Sunday (January 21) with Akheri Munajat (concluding prayers) on the bank of Turag River.

Senior most Imam (Pesh Imam) of Kakrail Jame Mosque Maulana Mohammad Jubaer will conduct the Akheri Munajat prayers before 11:00am.

The second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema began on Friday (January 19), while the first phase of the three-day Ijtema ended on January 14.

However, the date for the next year Bishwa Ijtema was finalized. The 2019 Biswa Ijtema will begin on January 11. It will also be held in two phases.

Tablig Jamaat has been organizing the Biswa Ijtema on the bank of Turag River in Bangladesh since 1967. The Bishwa Ijtema is being held in two phases since 2011 to deal with overcrowding and ensure better management.
