MANIKGANJ: A textbook printing press caught fire in Manikganj sadar upazila Saturday morning (January 20).

The fire ensued at the press—SR Printing Press—located at BISIC Industrial area in Jagir union under sadar upazila, at around 8:15am.

On information, two firefighting units of Manikganj Fire Service Station rushed to the spot and doused the fire after one and half hours of frantic efforts.

The fire service station officer Jannatul Islam Nayeem told Banglanews that the fire originated from electric short circuit.

The extent of loss couldn’t be known immediately.

The press prints national textbooks upon government contracts, added Nayeem.
