DHAKA UNIVERSITY: A female student was injured when a part of the washroom ceiling in DU Shamsunnahar Hall collapsed and fell on her on Thursday noon (Dec 14).

The injured woman is a second year student of DU Islamic Studies Department.

Witnesses said the female student was taking a bath while the ceiling fractions came off on her. She was seriously injured in the incident and immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). 

The incident created panic among other students. Many students told that they have been raising concern and demanding renovation of the hall’s washrooms to the administration. However, no initiative has been taken so far in this regard. 

When asked about the matter to Shamsunnahar Hall principal Supriya Saha over phone, she preferred to talk face-to-face.
