DHAKA: Bangladesh is set to celebrate the UNESCO recognition of the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a befitting manner across the country Saturday (November 25). 

Processions, cultural programs and screening of films on the Liberation War of 1971 will be held in all the districts and upazilas including the capital city.

"The government has decided to celebrate the program as the UNESCO recognized Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech as a world documentary heritage," said Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam at a press briefing held at the conference room of the cabinet division Friday (November 24).

In Dhaka, the celebration will be commenced through placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu National Museum at Dhanmondi-32, in the noon. 

Later, a procession from the residence will move towards Suhrawarty Udyan.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is supposed to address a grand rally as the chief guest at Suhrawardy Uddyan.

Cultural function and leaser show will also be held there, in the evening.

However, Bangladesh missions abroad will also hold celebration programs, marking the achievement of Bangladesh.
