TANGAIL: Thousands of passengers got stuck on Dhaka-Tangail highway for hours due to a 30-kilometre tailback that stretched in several points along the highway.

Traffics on the highway started to congest from Friday noon and the situation reached an extreme level till Friday evening. The long tailback is causing immense sufferings to commuters.

According to highway police sources, excessive vehicles are plying on the highway as it is Thursday and more people traveling. Moreover, construction works for 4-lane highways are also slowing down vehicular movements in several points. Normally it takes around three hours to reach Tangail from Dhaka, but now it is taking over 7 hours to cross the distance.
