DHAKA UNIVERSITY: A mobile court has sentenced one month imprisonment to 15 admission aspirants who were caught for fraudulence during the ‘Gha’ unit admission test of Dhaka University.

Executive magistrate Touhid-e-Elahi passed the order on Friday noon (Oct 20). 

Of the 15 convicted aspirants, three were identified as ‘masterminds’ in the forgery. 

The convicts are- Ishtiaq Ahmed of Kishoreganj, Abdullah Al Mukim and Mohammad Rishad Kabir of Gaibandha, Miraj Ahmed of Pabna, Joy Saha of Bogra, Mohammad Mahbub of Comilla, Rezwana Sheikh Shobha, Masuka Nasrin Roza, Tariqul Islam of Mymensingh, Nasirul Haque Nahid of Rangpur, MD Farhatul Alam Rafi of Faradpur and Md Minarul of Natore.

Earlier in the day, 15 aspirants were detained from exam halls for allegedly committing digital forgery.

Several digital instruments used for forgery and mobile phones were also seized from their possession, said Du proctor MA Azad.
