DHAKA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 detained two active members, working under Sarwar-Tamim group, of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in city. 

The detainees were identified as Md. Giasuddin, 34 and Md. Liton, 34. Giasuddin was a fugitive in a case filed with Narayanganj Bondor upazila. 

RAB's legal and media wing director Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan said they were detained city’s Wari area on Thursday afternoon (October 19).

On Thursday afternoon (October 19), Additional Superintendent of Police of RAB-11 Shakil Ahmed said in a press release, Giasuddin has been working in city as a rickshaw puller and cook since 2000. he started to engage in militant activities from 2012.

On the other hand, Liton came to Dhaka in 2005 and started working as night guard in a house and later did some construction works. He got involved in militancy from 2012.
