GAIBANDHA:  Police on Monday (October 16) recovered the bodies of two youths who went missing in a boat capsize two days earlier in Brahmaputra River at Kamrajani area under Gaibandha Sadar Upazila.  

The deceased were identified as Abdul Latif and Ful Miah.

Locals spotted the bodies floating in the river. On information, police recovered the bodies of Abdul Latif from Varatkhali area of Saghata upazila and Ful Miah from Chor Kalashona area under Fulchhari upazila 

Earlier, on October 14, a sport boat carrying 25-people on-board capsized in Brahmaputra River around 12:00 pm while practicing a trail run to participate in a local boat race. Six people went missing and four of them were rescued alive.

Kamarjani Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Abdul Zakir Salam told Banglanews that Rangpur diving team conducted the rescue operation for the missing persons but the duo couldn’t be found.
