DHAKA: Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, AAMS Arefin Siddique, said the ongoing ethnic cleansing of Myanmar’s rakhine state is not an unexpected incident but a part of far-flung conspiracy.

He made the remark while addressing a human-chain in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka on Friday (Sep 22).

Bangabandhu Shikkha o Gobeshona Parishad (BSGP) organized the human chain protesting the violence against ethnic Rohingya community by Myanmar’s security forces.

He said everyone in the world is now touched by this humanitarian crisis. The whole world is horrified to witness the ethnic cleansing done by Suu Kyi government.

“This mass killing is no unintentional occurrence but a part of bigger conspiracy. Over four lakh Rohingyas fled into Bangladesh following persecution in Myanmar. Bangladesh peace-loving state, does not believe in conflict. Myanmar have to play the leading role in solving this crisis because we can not take responsibility for their problems.”

Bangabandhu Shikkha o Gobeshona Parishad (BSGP) general secretary Professor Sirajul Huq Alo, presidium member professor Dr. Habibur Rahman, Dr Bashirullah, joint general secretary professor Mofasser Hossain Jibon were also present the human chain.
