Train communication of Dhaka to north, south regions resumed

DHAKA: The train connection of Dhaka to the north and south regions of the country resumed on Monday afternoon (August 21) after repairs were completed on a bridge in Tangail.

The train service resumed amid the Rajshahi-bound ‘Silk City’ departed from the Kamalapur Railway Station at 2:40 pm.

Station manager Sitangshu Chakrabarty confirmed the matter to the Banglanews.

The rail communication of northern and southern parts of the country with Dhaka was snapped two days ago as the ongoing flood washed away soil beneath a rail bridge at Kalihati upazila in Tangail.

Repair work on the bridge began on Monday morning after materials arrived from Dhaka. A task force of around 300, including two units of fire service, worked relentlessly in this regard.
