DINAJPUR: Road transport and Bridges minister Obaidul Quader said to the flood victims that the Hasina government will stand beside them until they are being resettled properly. 

He made the call while distributing relief materials among flood victims in Biral upazila of Dinajpur on Friday noon (Aug 18).

Quader said new houses will be constructed for those who lost their homes in flood. The government will do everything to settle them properly.

“You are already receiving various allowances including adult allowance, widow allowance and freedom fighter allowance in home. While sitting in remote villages, you are able to speak to your closed ones living anywhere in the world through technology. The Hasina government has brought to you this opportunity.”

Quader further said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to develop the country and this flow of development will continue in the future if you vote for her in the next election.”

On the other hand, criticizing BNP, he said, “They won’t give you anything except visiting you once in a while with mere talks. Their talks won’t feed you. We will help the flood affected people and make houses and roads for them.”
