DHAKA: A Dhaka court has sentenced death penalty to three people for stabbing one Alamgir Hossain to death in City’s Shampur area. 

Judge of Dhaka Court Mashiur Rahman Chowdhury passed the verdict on Thursday (July 27).

The death row convicts are Mohammad Jony, 26, Mohammad Hasan alias Kalu, 20 and Manir Hossain, 27. 

Of them, Kalu and Manir are absconding. 

According to case statement, some 4-5 muggers attacked Alamgir Hossain while he was on the way to his Jurain residence from Gulistan. While challenged, they stabbed him to death. 

Later on the next day, victim’s wife Laila Akhter filed a murder case with the Kadamtali police station.
