DHAKA: The government has appointed Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Helaluddin Ahmed as acting secretary to the Election Commission.

Ministry of Public Administration has issued separate orders regarding this reshuffling on Thursday (July 20) appointing Helaluddin as new EC secretary and transferring incumbent EC secretary Muhammad Abdullah to a secretary of the Ministry of Industries.

Also, Personal Secretary-2 to the Prime Minister, Nomita Halder, has been appointed acting secretary of the expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment ministry.

Public Safety Division’s OSD (additional secretary) Md Abdul Hannan was made chairman of the Land Appeal Board with the acting secretary status.
