ACC okays charge-sheet against 4 over loan scam

DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) approved a charge-sheet against four people, including the chairman of Rising Steel Mills Ltd in Chittagong, for embezzling Tk 325.76 crore from AB Bank.

ACC deputy director and public relations officer Pranab Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Monday afternoon (July 17).

He said ACC finds evidence of loan scam orchestrated by Jamila Naznil Mawla, chairman of Rising Steel Mills Ltd (RSM), managing directors Amzad Hossain Chowdhury, Aslam Chowdhury and director Jasim Uddin Chowdhury. 

On July 16 in 2016, a case was filed against them for misappropriating the money of AB Bank between 2011 and 2013 with Double Mooring Police Station in Chittagong.
