CHITTAGONG: An elderly man reportedly stabbed dead his wife and 4-month-old granddaughter over a family conflict in Purba Putibila area under Lohagora upazila of Chittagong on Tuesday night (July 11).
Daughter-in–law of the accused Pethan Shil was injured in the incident.
The deceased were identified as Puspa Rani Shil, 50 and granddaughter Nabila. Injured daughter-in-law Mani Shil, 30, is undergoing treatment at hospital.
Lohagora thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Shahjahan told Banglanews that after Pethan Shil had locked into an altercation with his wife Puspa Rani, his daughter-in-law Mani Shil along with Nabila came forward to calm the situation down. Pethan shil then attacked all of them with a chopper in rage.
On information, a murder case was filed in this connection. The bodies were kept in Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy, he added.
