BOGRA: A minor school girl was killed in her sleep and her mother was injured as a mango-laden truck plowed through a local slum at Gundail Sarakpara in Nandigram upazila of Bogra on Monday morning (July 10).

The deceased was identified as Rita Khatun, daughter of one Razu Khandakar, hailed from Gundail Sarakpara area. She was a 3rd grade student of a local primary school.

Nandigram police station sub-inspector (SI) Khakan Chandra Bhoumik told Banglanews that the truck hit the slum after the driver lost control over its steering. The truck was seized, however the driver and assistant managed to escape the scene.
