DHAKA: A girl claimed to police that she was raped at a birthday party in Banani of Dhaka and filed a case over the incident on Wednesday (Jul 5).

The girl lodged the case accusing Bahauddin Evan, 28, an acquaintance of her, with Banani Police station, for raping her.

Banani police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Matin told Banglanews that Evan invited the girl for his birthday party at his residence in Banani Road no.2 on Tuesday night (Jul 4).

The girl went to Evan’s residence but found none except Evan. 

Evan then forcefully raped the girl and drove her away from there at around 3am, said the OC.

Besides, he also seized her mobile phone forcefully, the OC added.

The girl was sent to Victim Support Centre (VSC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

She will be taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for medical test.

However, police are trying to arrest Evan, added the OC.
