DHAKA: A student was killed in a road accident in city’s Jatrabari area around Monday (June 26) noon.

The deceased was identified as Nure Alam Siam, 13, also a class VIII student, son of Alam Mia, tenant of Nabinagar under Dakkhin Jatrabari.

Uncle of Siam told Banglanews that the accident took place at Shahid Faruk Road around 12 noon. A speeding bus hit his bicycle while he was riding it carrying his friend Tanzil, leaving Siam critically injured.

Later, Siam was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries later at 3 pm.

Police seized the bus but the driver and his cohort were managed to flee, the OC added.

Siam’s mother Sima Aktar told Banglanews that her son performed Eid prayer in the morning. After taking breakfast, he then went out of house wearing new dresses, she added.  

DMCH police outpost ASI Babul Mia told the newsportal that Siam’s body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
