KISHOREGANJ: As in the previous years, the biggest jamaat (congregation) of Eid-ul-Fitr was held at historic Sholakia Maidan in Kishoreganj on Monday (June 26).
The jamaat was held at 10:00 in the morning.
Several hundreds of devotees from different parts of the country took part in the prayers.
Of the 21 entrances, only six were opened for the attendees to enter the eidgah ground.
Earlier, the devotees were searched before allowing to the ground in four phases, to avoid any untoward situation.
The devotees were allowed only with janamaz (prayer mat).
Law enforcers including the members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) covered the whole area with tougher security layers.
However, Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, is being celebrated across the country on Monday with due solemnity and religious fervor.
