MAGURA: A man was killed after a moving bus crushed him on a bridge at Salikha upazila in Magura on Friday (June 23).

The deceased was identified as Moshiar Rahman, 65, inhabitant of Paikgachha village under Bagharpara upazila in Jessore.

The incident took place on newly launched Bailey Bridge at Simakhali area of Salikha upazila in the afternoon.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Salikha police station Rabiul Islam said that a Magura-bound bus crushed Moshiar Rahman on the bridge, leaving him dead on the spot.

The locals caught the killer bus and its driver. Later, police seized the bus and arrested the driver. A case was also filed with Salikha police station in this connection, said the OC.
