RAJSHAHI: The head scientific officer of Rajshahi Science Laboratory was killed in a road crash near Kalitola Bridge in Mohanpur Upazila of the district on Friday morning (June 23).  

The deceased was identified as Dr. Mansur Ali, 54, son of one Akkel Ali, hailed from Dhamirhat of Naogaon district. He used live in his own house in Rajshahi town’s Chandrima residential area and worked as a scientific officer for BCSIR in the town.

Rajshahi Mohanpur police station officer-in-charge (OC) SM Masud Parvez said he was heading to his hometown Naogaon for Eid on early Friday when his car crashed into a roadside tree. Locals rushed Ali and his driver Shariat Hossain to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Mansur dead on arrival.
