ASP Mizan murdered, no doubt: IGP IGP AKM Shahidul Hoque talking to reporters

DHAKA: Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said that the death of Highway police assistant commissioner (ASP) Mizanur Rahman was unquestionably a murder.

He made the disclosure to reporters while inspecting security measures at Shopping mall ‘Police Plaza’ in city’s Gulshan area on Thursday (June 22).

IGP said a case has been filed over the death of ASP Mizanur Rahman. Meanwhile, the autopsy has been completed and an investigation is underway. From the injury marks found in the body, it seems an obvious case of murder. However, the person and reason behind the murder-are yet to be known.

In a query about how come a businessmen was killed by muggers in Dhaka amid tight security, IGP said crime rate can not be reduced to zero in a country of 16 crore people. Some crimes will be committed but the important thing is whether we are doing our best to identify the criminals.
