FENI: A woman was slaughtered and her five-year-old daughter was strangled to death allegedly by miscreants at Fulgazi upazila of the district on Wednesday (May 24) evening.

The deceased were identified as Bibi Fatema Akhter Sathi, 40, daughter of one late Manir Ahmed, hailed from Purba Basikpur village of the upazila and her daughter Isma.

Fulgazi police station officer-in-charge (OC) MM Morshed told Banglanews that, on information, they recovered the bodies around 9:00pm Wednesday from the residence of Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan in village. 

However, motive behind the double murder is yet to be discovered. Police are currently investigating the matter and drive to detain the perpetrators is underway, OC added.
