COX’S BAZAR: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 12.1 lakh Yaba tablets worth of Tk 36 crore from Kachubania area in Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Friday morning (April 28).

However, no one was detained over the incident. 

Teknaf-2 BGB Commander Lt Col Abuzar Al Jahid told Banglanews that the huge amounts of smuggled drugs, packed in sacks, were found in a combined drive by BGB members.

The smugglers, however, fled the scene sensing the presence of law enforcers. It is believed to have been the biggest haul of BGB so far. The tablets will be destroyed later, BGB commander added.
