GAZIPUR: A man was killed after a train hit him on the rail track at Tongi in Gazipur on Saturday morning (April 22).  

The deceased was identified as Innas Ali, 40, son of Toyeb Ali of Ghagti area of Kishoreganj sadar upazila.

The incident happened on Dhaka-Joydebpur railway at Bonmala area of Tongi.

In-charge of Tongi railway station police check post Saiful Islam told Banglanews that Innas Ali was crossing the rail track. At the time, a train hit him, leaving him dead on the spot.

The body was recovered at about 11:00 am.
