SIRAJGANJ: A district court on Wednesday (March 29) has sentenced seven year imprisonment to 30 robbers in Sirajganj in an attempt to robbery case.

Judge of Sirajganj Additional District and Sessions Court-2 and special tribunal-3, Begum Sheikh Merina Sultana pronounced the verdict in presence of some of the convicts.

The convicts include Shah Alam, 28, son of Badsha Sheikh of Aloya village under Bhuapur upazila in Tangail, Ranju Khan, 25, son of Hafiz Khan of the village, Nasir Ali Sheikh, 35, son of Khoka Sheikh of the same village, Kamrul Hasan, 23, son of Abdur Rashid of Mahmudkati village under   Swarupkati upazila in Pirojpur, Saju Mia, 25, son of Golam Rasul of Monirhat village under Kurigram sadar upazila, Amzad Hossain Bappy, 27, son of Suruz Mia of Chandrapasha village under Pakundia upazila in Kishoreganj, and Jahangir Alam Gazi, 27, son of Noor Mohammad Gazi of Dakshin Ramsiddi village under Gaurnadi upazila in Barisal. 

The above mentioned convicts were present in the court during the verdict, while the rest are fugitive. 

Additional public prosecutor (APP) of Sirajganj Shamsul Alam confirmed the matter to the Banglanews.
