DHAKA: A flight of Saudi Airlines, flown from Medinah city for Dhaka, made an emergency landing in Jedda Airport, due to a technical glitch.

The airlines’ authorities said that all the 141 passengers and 10 crews of the flight have been marked safe.

The airplane, Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV3818, was initially travelling to Dhaka from Medinah had to be diverted to Jeddah.

The airplane had reportedly circled Jeddah for several hours until it was able to land on a runway at the airport at 10 pm local time, reports Al Arabiya News.

“At around 8:00 pm local time Monday night, the Airbus A330 flight No. SV3818 took off from Medina headed for Dhaka Airport in Bangladesh. Sometime after takeoff, a defect in the hydraulic system was noticed and a decision was made to divert the plane to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah,” Saudi Arabian Airlines spokesman Eng Abdulrahman al-Tayeb told the news outlet.

“When the landing attempt was made, the front wheels could not be lowered. After several attempts, they decided to land without taking down the front wheels after taking all necessary precautions. The plane landed safely and the 141 guests took off the plane with the 10 crew members,” the report said further quoting the spokesperson.
