Pope Francis has arrived in Myanmar on a three-day visit to a country which is widely accused of ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims.

After touching down in the afternoon (November 27), the pope was greeted by a large crowd on both sides of the street. Likewise, he waved hand and exchanged greetings.

Francis is scheduled to meet the country’s de facto leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, and commander-in-chief, Min Aung Hlaing.  

Afterwards, he will arrive in Bangladesh on Thursday (November 30).

Pope said, at the time of his arrival, his trip is meant to spread friendship among all.
