DUTA terms quota reform demand logical DUTA organize a human chain before Aparajeyo Bangla

UNIVERSIRTY OF DHAKA: Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) President Dr ASM Maksud Kamal said that the demand of the students and job-seekers to reform the existing quota system is logical.

Prof Maksud was talking to the media, at a human chain formed before the Aparajeyo Bangla at Dhaka University (DU) Tuesday (April 10).

DUTA formed the human chain to protest the attack at the residence of DU Vice-chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman.

“The students’ demand of quota reformation is logical. We, on behalf of DU, are extending full support to this demand,” Maksud said.

Besides, we also demand to solve the problem after examining it within March 7, he added. 

However, Maksud further demanded to identify the attackers of VC residence mayhem and trial for them.

The attack at the VC residence was carried out by trained people in the similar fashion of March 25, he added.

DU Proctor Prof Dr AKM Golam Rabbani, DUTA Secretary General Shibli Rubaiyat Ul Islam, Poet Muhammad Asad, Faculty of Sociology Dean Prof Sadeka Halim, Syndicate member Neelima Akhter and Assistant Proctor Abdur Rahim were, among others, participated in the human chain.
